An Uttlesford resident since 1985, James has a background in aviation, has worked closely with Stansted Airport and specialises in commercial IT. He has spearheaded local business networking initiatives and runs a small sports club in his spare time. He is a experienced councillor and former Saffron Walden Mayor.

James de Vries has been an Uttlesford resident since 1985, and is an experienced district and town councillor, previously sitting on the UDC Investment Board, and scrutiny and governance committees.
